In Ayurveda a natural science of life “Ayur” = Life “Veda” = Knowledge.As the sister science of yoga it is described that depending on your “Doshas” or your elemental blueprint you will tend to be in your positive side creative & flowy or in your negative side anxious and scattered" all over the place" forgetful and inconsistent if you are an “Air & Ether” predominant Vata Dosha.If you tend to be very structured & are a planner on your good side and on your bad side tend to get aggressive, irritable or angry you are most likely a predominant “Fire & Water” Pitta Dosha.If you tend to be very loyal, steady and generous on your good side & become unmotivated easily when off balance by becoming depressed and attached to eating foods out of being emotionally activated you may tend to be a predominant “Earth & Water” Kapha Dosha.It is necessary to remember that the earth, air, fire, & water elements are moving through us. We have a very deep biological unity with the living environment and this is not simply a concept rather a living reality.Our world has been increasing in a collective ignorance which arises from our disconnection with nature. It is necessary to understand our own inner landscapes climatic patterns so that we can apply lifestyle choices , styles of yoga, foods, and therapies that favor our inner ecology.This is why I have created natural- ayur-yoga to be part of a specifically tailored wellness success program and regenerative lifestyle design plan.Yoga is best done outdoors in nature,especially under a tree. At the end of a Natural- Yoga session I like to follow with a conscious relaxation or "yoga nidra" session, where you will feel like you just woke up from a long deep healing rest, but without ever really falling asleep! Therefore you won't feel that lethargic sensation after sleeping in the middle of the day, rather you will feel crisp, sharp and ready to take on any challenge with ease.This is a guided laying meditation where you will be consciously guided to relax every part of your body. This practice allows you to enter from active beta brain waves to the stillness of alpha & theta states of mental activity which assists a state in which you rejuvenate while all cells in the body regenerate. This practice pacifies the nervous system, it is said that 15 minutes of conscious relaxation is equal to 2 hours of sleep.This is then a perfect time to enter a Thai bodywork session where you will feel opened, your muscles will feel released from stored tensions and your joints will feel like they just got an oil change!Thai bodywork increases mobility, of all major joints, it opens meridians and major channels in the body, allowing life force energy to flow more freely, this will serve to restore sanity to the mind/vitality to the body. You can choose to have a Thai Therapy Session after Yoga or Instead of it if your feeling tires and like you just want to relax.
Shirodhara an ancient ayurvedic therapy which consists of steady, flow of warm oil flowing onto the forehead which stimulates the pineal gland, or "third-eye." This is one of the most divine therapies, awakening your body’s intuitive knowledge. It will improve your mental clarity and comprehension. This can be the gransfinale after a Thai therapy session or just take place on it's own.
